Sports car for a 16 year old girl!?

Alyssa
Okay. We are not looking for a Honda Civic. Trust me we have heard all about them. She wants a sports car. But we still want her too be safe. Money isn't the problem. We are a fan of Chevy, Ford, BMW, mercadies, etc. we want her too be safe. And ride in stil. She's asked for a Camaro. But still looking and open too other options.
Answer
A pre-owned (2010ish would be perfect) 6 cylinder Mustang. I recommend 2010 because the newer ones are expensive and WAY too powerful (even the V6's)
Make sure it has AdvanceTrac⢠Electronic Stability Control with ABS and Traction Control, MyKey and Sync
The Mustang is very reliable, well built and safe.

The 6 cylinders are less expensive than the V8's (GTs). They have PLENTY of power for a 16 year old (newer driver). Later... when she is more experienced driver, Mustangs are very easily modified, if she (and/or you) feel that y'all want more horsepower.
The Traction Control is going to make it easier and safer to drive as most "Sports Cars" are rear wheel drive and can get wheel spins on slippery or wet pavement without it.

"AdvanceTrac⢠Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is now standard and complements Mustangâs all-speed traction control and anti-lock braking system (ABS).
âIt gives a driver a little more confidence that in any type of condition the car will maintain what they want it to do,â Barnes said. âThe 2010 Mustang improves ride quality and maintains world-class steering and handling.â

MyKey is a perfect way to put limits (for safety sake) on her driving habits. It is a programmable parental control device.

And finally SYNC will give her hands free controls for phone (it can even read text messages to her aloud). And allow her to vocalize commands to the entertainment (music) system, without taking her hands off the Wheel nor eyes off the road. SYNC can make emergency phone calls for her too. and a whole slew of other features that will enhance her SAFETY. (and your peace of mind)

(by the way, SYNC does not have a monthly billing charge, like GMs OnStar, and actually has more features than OnStar)
and after all ^^that being said...
You will always be able to find cool car related gifts and accessories for her! Mustangs are one of the few vehicles that are constantly customized, so there are always upgrades and custom options to doll them up.
