Want to export luxury cars to China.?

nycoolman

Is there someone who can help me export cars to china. I need a contact of an auto dealer in China. Unfortunately I don't speak the language.

Answer
China has no shortage of sellers of luxury cars. And the recession is even worse over there. I know. I tried to get a friend in China interested in something like this as I have a connection at the suction for tons of repo'd Mercedes, etc.

How could China possibly have become the top market for luxury cars like mercedes BMW and even lambos?

Just minutes ago, I was reading a report on the world's major markets for luxury and super luxury vehicles. The report seems to suggest that demand for those vehicles worldwide has been on the rise with the fastest and strongest growth found in an unlikely country--China. It also gives a lot of statistics which seem to indicate that China has already become the number one or number two market for BMW 7 series, Mercedes and even high end sports cars like the lambos. One section of the report discusses the possibility that China will overtake U.S to become the largest market for Ferrari in the near future. It says China currently ranks as the fifth largest market for Ferrari, though this brand didn't start entering Chinese market until 2004.

I just find this trend unbelievable. After reading the report, I tried to find out how much those luxury vehicles are sold for there and it turned out luxury cars like the audi Q7 model can be three times as expensive there as one here in the U.S, and so are other imported luxury vehicles that are sold for a much higher price in China. I can't understand how China could have gone this far to catch up with or even overtake most european countries and even U.S in the luxury car market since China is a very poor country. I don't think the size of its population alone can explain the growth---other populous nations like India and Indonesia were not mentioned in the report.
Is the report fabricated just to stimulate more Americans to continue purchasing ferraris so that they can remain the most attractive place for luxury car makers?

Answer
What's so hard to believe? China has the fastest growing economy on the planet and well over 1,000,000,000 people. If only 1% of the population can afford high-end luxury vehicles, that's 10,000,000 potential buyers.

I used to work for a Fortune 500 company with manufacturing facilities all over the globe. The typical managing director at one of the Chinese factories (average worker wage of 75 cents per hour for unskilled labor, $1 per hour for semi-skilled labor, and $1.50 per hour for skilled trades) drove a Mercedes S-Class. One drove a Bentley and one drove a Lambo. The typical MD at a US plant drove a Tahoe. I don't recall a single one who drove a Benz.

China is no more communist than Afghanistan is wealthy. Capitalism runs rampant and extreme wealth is the rule at the top of the heap. Although poverty is the rule for many Chinese citizens, those who do have have a hell of a lot.
