How much should I pay for a '13 IS250?
Unusualone
Hey guys, not sure if I should be posting this question here but I really can't find a website with the information I need.
I live in las vegas and am soon to buy a new car, the lexus is250 RWD. I looked on the website and the MSRP came out to $36k not needing the delivery fee since I'll go to the dealer itself. I know the '14 model will have a different front and back so I plan to go to the dealer sometime in the summer towards the end of the month possibly july/august. I was wondering how much lower could I bargain to get a cheaper price? The amount I had in mind was a $33k OTD price but since I've never bargained for a luxury car before I really have no clue how realistic that price is :(
what did/would you pay for a brand new 2013 lexus is250? it would greatly help me and I really appreciate any kind of input - thank you in advance!
Answer
The delivery fee is not a fee for the dealer to deliver it to you, it's a fee the dealer has to pay (and then passes on to you, 100%) to get the car delivered from the factory. There's no way out of it, it's one of the few prices you'll see that's non-negotiable. It's around $900 I think, so call MSRP of what you're looking at more like $37K.
Invoice on the IS250 is about $2500 under sticker. Absent factory rebates or incentives, the dealer's not going to go under that.
Since the 2014s are all but out, I would personally not pay hardly anything over invoice for a 2013.
Realistically, you're looking at around $34,500 sale price, best case, and probably closer to $35K, depending on how well you negotiate. If there does happen to be factory rebates or incentives (with Lexus, there seldom are), subtract that too. Keep in mind, I'm not saying you should initially offer either of those numbers........by all means, start at $33K or even $32K.....but expect to pay more than that.
Also keep in mind that your out the door price has to include sales tax, title, tags, which can easily add up to 10%, depending on where you live. Add that to the $34,500 as well. Realistically, your OTD price is going to be around $38K for this car.......I can tell you for sure it won't be $33K, including everything.
Good luck!
