Answer
"sports car" and "sedan" are mutually exclusive terms, despite Nissans marketing claims to the contrary. If you want a decent sports sedan that will be reliable, look for an Infiniti G35, you should be able to get a nice used one for 20K. And if you try hard enough you might find one with a stick - they make them but they aren't very common.

What sub 20k sports car should I get?
Q. This spring I will be looking to pick up a under $20k sports car. I currently have a 05 wrx and an '88 mustang.
I like how they both drive. Im looking for some opinions on sports cars, either muscle, euro, or import. I like the idea of a convertible but am not dead set on one.
Also, I would like something relitively newer, say 01 and up. I dont want something like an 02 honda civic for 5k and spend the other 15k to make it fast. I want something I get in and go. It will not be a daily driver so practicality is not an issue.
Thanks in advance

well Car and Driver Magazine comes out with a cheap speed article. I personally drive the usual winner, a VW GTI, it's a 2.0L turbo, lots of punch, great transmission, and comfortable, you can drive it in the winter too, it doesn't depreciate much in value either, If you want crazy speed, spend 1000 bucks and get a chip put in, that's all it needs if you like crazy speed!
